Nails of the Month – November 2014

Nails of the Month

November 2014

So, once again I’ve worn quite a lot of nail varnish this month. Once again mostly thanks to my peel off basecoat.

The first nail varnish I wore was Lac Attack’s Beauxbatons Academy, one of my all time favourite nail varnishes. You can see my review of it by clicking here.

Nail Art – Royal Baby

On the Announcement that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their second child

If you’ve read my blog for a while, you may remember this nail art design I created when Prince George was born. With the announcement that he will be getting a little brother or sister, I decided that it was a good excuse to do some more nail art. So I came up with this simple look, which you only need to be able to create dots and lines to create.

Nails of the Month

June 2014

The first colour I wore this month was Collection 2000 Hot Looks’ Blue Hawaii. I needed something quick drying and this was already out from when I used it last month.

Nail Art – Star Wars – Ewoks

Nail Art

Star Wars

Ewoks

So, I always knew I wanted to do some more Star Wars nail art, but I hadn’t really envisioned it being Ewok nails. I had toyed with the idea of Ewok nails but it wasn’t my first choice. But I am quite happy with how these turned out.

I went to stay with one of my closest friends, Lesley and introduced her to my blog. (Hi Lesley – I know you’ll be reading this at some point!). She’s one of the few friends who knows I keep a blog and she insisted on showing her husband some of my nail art. Nothing we showed him could beat the R2-D2 nails we showed him first and he was the one who challenged me to do Ewok nails. He also said that if I did he would take Lesley back to the lovely coffee shop we went to in Bakewell and get her a piece of the chocolate cake we were eyeing. And as this is scheduled to go live the day after Lesley’s essay is due to be handed him, you need to tell Meo he has no excuse not to take you! And I’m very jealous that I won’t get to try a piece of that cake!

Nail Varnish Picks – Spring 2014

Nail Varnish Picks

Spring 2014

As soon as March hit, I totally started wearing what I would class as spring nail varnishes. Although I do pretty much wear whatever colour I want at any time of year, but there are certain colours that I do just seem to wear at certain times of year. So I thought I’d share some of my favourite nail varnishes for Spring with you.

Nail Art – Titanic

Nail Art

Titanic

I’ve been wanting to do some more nail art for a while but didn’t have any solid idea of what I wanted to do and then inspiration struck. I’m a huge history fan, and today marks 102 years since the Titanic sank. The Titanic’s story has always fascinated me and when I’m in the mood I really enjoy the film. So I’ve come up with this nail art design, which I thought I’d share with you. I would class them as nails based on the film Titanic, but in terms of the appearance of the ship I’d say the film is almost completely accurate, it was something James Cameron was quite particular about.

Nails of the Month – March 2014

Nails of the Month

March 2014

As soon as March hits, I class it as Spring and I totally broke out the pastel nail varnishes and loved every minute of it. I’m still working the longer days with Thursday’s off and I’m still finding it difficult to paint my nails as much as I’d like. I also sleep at my grandparents at least once a week, so that gives me even less time as well.

The first manicure I did wear was to layer Nubar’s Lemon Lime Crush over Butter London’s Wellies. This has almost a neon quality to it and I’m totally loving Nubar’s new Crushed Candy collection.

Nail Varnish Collection – Butter London – Spring 2014

Nail Varnish Collection

Butter London

As of Spring 2014

With my nail varnish collection series of posts I’ve decided that any brand I’ve got more than five nail varnishes for will get a post of their own and the rest I’ll do a collective post of at the end. So next up in my collection series are my Butter London nail varnishes. These are some of the more expensive nail varnishes in my collection, but the ones I’ve had the longest are some of my most used nail varnishes. A Butter London display has appeared in my local Boots store in the last year or so but I’ve bought all of mine online. You can see the previous posts in my Nail Varnish Collection series by clicking here.

Tag – Spring Fling Tag – March 2014

Spring Fling Tag

March 2014

So, I saw this Spring Fling Tag on Miss Holly Berries YouTube Channel and thought it looked like a lot of fun. I think everyone is ready for the winter to be over and this totally helps to get me in the mood for Spring. And it’s March finally, so I class it as Spring. The pastel nail varnishes have been dusted off!

1. What eye palette do you/will you use most this spring?

I very rarely use eye palettes, I pretty much stick to one or two eyeshadows all the time and they are mostly singles. But I did get Barry M’s Natural Glow Palette for Christmas so I’ll be using that a lot this spring. I have debated getting one of the Naked palettes, but I don;t know how much use I’d get out if it.

Nails of the Month – February 2014

Nails of the Month

February 2014

With changing my shifts at work to work longer days with a Thursday off, I haven’t had as much time as I used to to paint my nails. The first colour I did wear this month was Illamasqua’s Faux Pas. I wore this with a topcoat as it does dry to a satin finish on its own. I had to take the photo of this without the flash on my camera as it was totally messing with the colour, so please forgive the slight blurriness on the photo.
