Nails of the Month
So, once again I’ve worn quite a lot of nail varnish this month. Once again mostly thanks to my peel off basecoat.
The first nail varnish I wore was Lac Attack’s Beauxbatons Academy, one of my all time favourite nail varnishes. You can see my review of it by clicking here.
Lip Gloss Review
Lovely Girl – 9
I’ve found myself reaching for this lip gloss a lot this autumn and I decided it was time that I shared it. This is a cool toned bright pink lip gloss from the brand Lovely Girl and I believe it is in the shade 9, it doesn’t appear to have a name. I got this in Portugal when I was there on holiday this summer, so I don’t know much about the brand and can’t really find much online, but I believe this lip gloss only cost around €2 at the very most.
Black Cats and Witches Hats
I’ll be perfectly honest, I’m not actually a huge fan of Halloween but you’d never know that considering the amount of Halloween nail art I’ve fine this year. You can click here to see my Frankenstein nail art, here to see my Spiders and Webs nail art and here to see my Dracula nail art. This is the last Halloween nail art design I’ve done for this year and I’m calling it Black Cats and Witches Hats. Again it’s not the most original of designs, but I still wanted to share it.
Nails of the Month
The first nail varnish I wore this month was Dollish Polish’s I Volunteer As Tribute. You can read my review on this nail varnish by clicking here.
Nail Varnish Picks
So I’ll wear whatever nail varnish I want to when I want to wear it. But I do find that subconsciously the seasons do influence my choices and I thought of share what I think are going to be some of my favourite nail varnishes this autumn. I just went through my collection and picked out ten nail varnishes, without looking at my other selections and it seems like I’m really into greens and browns this autumn, with a couple of others added in.
This first colour is A-England’s Dragon. This is a true green nail varnish with loads of holographic silver shimmer in it. And like the majority of A-England nail varnishes you can get away with only using one coat.
Lovely Girl Haul
So this is another part of my nail varnish haul from Portugal. These nail varnishes are from a brand called Lovely Girl and again they don’t seem to have names, just numbers. I only got four from this brand, but if we’d had the weight in the suitcases and I’d swatched them while we were there, I would have got more! The other brands I bought from are Wynie (see haul post here), Leticia Well (see haul post here) and Yes Love (see haul post here).
This first nail varnish is in the shade 1704. This is a sheer, jelly type varnish, but is completely opaque with around three coats. It is an orangey colour, with very strong red under tones. This was one I was tempted to put back on once I’d finished doing my swatches. I’m quite curious to see how it works in jelly sandwich manicures as well.
Rest In Peace Robin Williams
So I, along with so many others, was shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Robin Williams earlier this week. He was an actor who I grew up with and who was in some of my favourite films throughout my childhood. So in honour of his work and to remember the fun times he gave, I came up with a simple nail art look inspired by one of my favourite character’s who he played. The Genie in Aladdin. I’m still trying to figure out if I can come up with any designs for Jumanji, Hook or Mrs Doubtfire nails. Or maybe even Flubber, which was so bad it was good, in a strange sort of way? So anyway, this is a really simple look inspired by the Genie.
