Outfit of the Day
Hen Party Night Out
So it was my sister’s Hen Party the other weekend and I wanted to do a quick Outfit of the Day post to share what I wore when we went out on the night. We went to the Dreamboys show at Leeds and then stayed in the nightclub there, so we all got dressed up.
Nail Varnish Picks
The weather and the season really can influence which nail varnishes I grab for when I’m painting my nails, often times without me even realising it. So I thought I’d share some of my favourite nail varnishes for the winter months. When the weather does turn cold, I find myself reaching for lighter cool toned colours, many of which remind me of frost. As much as I do find myself influenced by the season when choosing my nail varnish, you can of course wear whatever colour you want when you want to. But these are some of my favourite nail varnishes for winter.
First up is Barry M’s Lady, which is a white and silver textured nail varnish. I always wear this with topcoat as I don’t like the textured finish, but this one really does remind me of frost and ice. You can read my review of this nail varnish by clicking here. And in the photo it is shown with topcoat.
Nails of the Month
I have worn so much nail varnish this month! This is partly due to getting the Makeup Academy Peel Off Basecoat (you can see my review on it here) which has meant that I have had time to change my nail varnish after work on an evening. (I am rarely in the house before 6.30 on an evening and leave the house around 7 the next morning).
The first nail varnish I wore this month was Glisten & Glow’s Dancing On Star Dust, a stunning micro glitter.
Nails of the Month
The first nail varnish I wore this month is one of my new one’s and is Dollish Polish’s One Lifetime With You. You can see it in my haul post here. I am totally in love with this colour and it won’t be long before I wear it again.
Nail Varnish Collection
As Of Summer 2014
I am determined to complete my Nail Varnish Collection series at some point this year! You can see all the previous posts in the series clicking here. Next in the series are my nail varnishes from Alanna Renee, an indie brand. Like my Sephora by OPI collection this brand only just fitted into the rule I created in my Butter London post that any brand with five or more nail varnishes will get their own post.
Nails of the Month
The first colour I wore this month was Collection 2000 Hot Looks’ Blue Hawaii. I needed something quick drying and this was already out from when I used it last month.
Nail Varnishes That Haven’t Featured On My Blog
As of April 2014
So, I was sorting through my (extensive) nail varnish collection the other day and ended up compiling a list of nail varnishes I have that have never featured on my blog. This means they haven’t been named in any Nails of the Month, Nail of the Day, Nail of the Week, Nail Art or Top Five posts. I haven’t used my nail varnish collection series posts in this as these only contain bottle shots and I haven’t actually used the nail varnishes for those posts.
I’m really enjoying working my way through my list of Products I Want To Finish In 2014 and I decided I wanted to do something similar with my nail varnishes. I have over 100 nail varnishes in my collection which haven’t featured on my blog, but considering the size of my nail varnish collection and looking at it percentage wise, it’s actually not all that many in the grand scheme of things. And just because they haven’t featured on my blog does not mean that they haven’t been used. Many of them I will have worn on my toes, or they have featured in nail art but if I haven’t done a specific post for that nail art look then they may not have been named in the subsequent Nails of the Month post and some pre-date my blog and have been used extensively before I started blogging.
