Top Five Models Own Nail Varnishes – Summer 2014

Top Five Nail Varnishes

Models Own

As Of Summer 2014

Next in my Top Five series of posts are my Top Five Models Own nail varnishes. You can see the previous posts in my Top Five series by clicking here. I don’t have loads of Models Own nail varnishes, but you can see my collection post for them by clicking here. I am starting to appreciate Models Own nail varnishes more and more, but some of their formula’s can be tricky to work it. But I find many of the colours to be worth the extra effort of a slightly trickier formula. So on to my Top Five Models Own Nail Varnishes, in reverse order.

In Fifth Place is Northern Lights. This is a fine pink and silver micro glitter which can be opaque on it’s own. It’s not often I would wear this as a full manicure, but it does make for a really pretty accent nail.

Top Five Essie Nail Varnishes – Summer 2014

Top Five Nail Varnishes

Essie

As Of Summer 2014

Next up in my Top Five Series of posts is my Top Five Essie nail varnishes. You can see the previous posts in my Top Five series by clicking here. In the grand scheme of my nail varnish collection I don’t own that many Essie nail varnishes and I have to admit that they are not my favourite of nail varnish brands. They have some lovely colours and some which I would really like to try but their formula is so hit and miss and some of them are really difficult to work with. And many of the nail varnishes I have tried from them seem to chip on me so quickly. But all that being said, I do have some nail varnishes from them that I really like and you can check out my Essie collection by clicking here. So, on to my Top Five Essie nail varnishes, in reverse order.

In Fifth Place is Huckle Buckle. The photo shows this layered over A-England’s Guinevere. It’s a lovely nail varnish, but way too sheer to wear on it’s own.

Top Five Dark Blue Nail Varnishes – Spring 2014

Top Five Dark Blue Nail Varnishes

As of Spring 2014

It seems like forever since I last done a Top Five post, so next in my Top Five series are my Top Five favourite dark blue nail varnishes. I’ve already listed my top five light blue nail varnishes and you can see all other posts in my Top Five series by clicking here. Blue is one of my favourite colours anyway and it’s definitely one of my favourite colours to wear on my nails and when I was thinking about varnishes I wanted to feature in this post because they hadn’t fit into my top five light blues, I came to the conclusion that I’m going to have to do a Top Five Medium Blue post as well, so that will be coming soon. This poor post, I’ve had it finished for a while now, but with me attempting to schedule posts ahead so I always have one going up every other day, this just kept getting shoved to the back as I had things I needed/wanted to go up sooner. But for now, on to my Top Five Dark Blue Nail Varnishes, in reverse order.

In Fifth place is NYX’s Titantic. I love this colour, but it only makes fifth place because it chips really quickly on me. It’s a gorgeous deep metallic blue though. One of the things that attracted me to this nail varnish originally was the name.

Top Five Dark Green Nail Varnishes – Winter 2013

Top Five Nail Varnishes

Dark Green

As of Winter 2013

Next in my Top Five series of posts is Dark Green nail varnishes. You can click here to see the previous posts in this series. As with my blue nail varnishes I couldn’t simply pick my top five greens, I’ve had to split it into light and dark (at least). So on to my favourite dark greens, in reverse order.

In fifth place is A-England’s Dragon. This is a gorgeous green with holographic shimmer running throughout it. The holographic in this is pretty subtle though, it just provides a slight shimmer, you don’t really get the oil slick on your finger nails effect. And as with most A-England nail varnishes, the formula is brilliant.

Top Five Light Blue Nail Varnishes – Winter 2013

Top Five Nail Varnishes

Light Blue

As Of Winter 2013

So next up in my Top Five Nail Varnishes series is Light Blue nail varnishes. You can see the previous posts in this series by clicking here. I love blue nail varnish and I really couldn’t pick out just five blue nail varnishes so I’ve split the colour into lights and darks.

In Fifth Place is Zoya’s Blu. This is a very white based light blue nail varnish and is probably the lightest blue I own. The formula is slightly thick so you have to be careful with application but it does cover fully with two coats.

Top Five A-England Nail Varnishes – Winter 2013

Top Five Nail Varnishes

A-England

As Of Winter 2013

So next in my Top Five series is A-England, which is one of my all time favourite nail varnish brands. You can see the previous posts in this series here. This top five was so difficult to choose! I love the A-England nail varnishes and I own so many of them. And this may sound incredibly strange but my favourite A-England nail varnishes are actually my most used nail varnishes. Sometimes the nail varnishes which are my favourites are not the ones I reach for most often.

In Fifth Place is Perceval. This is a lovely deep red colour with a metallic look to it which I love round Christmastime.

Top Five Purple Nail Varnishes – Autumn 2013

Top Five Nail Varnishes

Purple

As of Autumn 2013

So for the next edition in my Top Five Nail Varnishes series I decided to change things up a bit and go for a colour instead of a brand. And that colour is purple. If you want to see the previous posts in this series click here. Now, I have nothing against the colour purple, in fact I think it’s quite pretty, but it’s simply not a colour I reach for very often when I paint my nails. But in many ways that made it quite easy to pick my top five, when it comes to colours such as blue and green I’m probably going to have to split the colours into light and darks I have so many favourites! So onto my top five purple nail varnishes, in reverse order.

In fifth place is Butter London’s Pitter Patter. This varnish was released when the Duchess of Cambridge announced that she was pregnant with Prince George. It’s a lovely deep purple metallic colour which does just scream royalty to me. It ranks fifth because it is pretty new to my collection but it is already one if my favourites.
