Nail Art – Jockey Jerseys

Nail Art

Jockey Jerseys

So every year my family goes to the big race meeting at York for one day, the Ebor festival. And this year I decided it was the perfect excuse to do some bright coloured nail art, before I start getting into all the darker autumn and winter colours. The jerseys the jockeys wear offer endless possibilities for nail art and as long as you can create lines and dots, you could create this look. It can be very much mix and match, put whatever colours you want together, with whatever pattern you want. But this is how I created this look.

Nails of the Month – July 2014

Nails of the Month

July 2014

The first colour I wore this month was Nails Inc’s Blenheim Terrace. This is a lovely dark peach colour with pink undertones and an almost invisible shimmer in it. This is also a nail varnish which was on my Unfeatured Nail Varnish List.

Nail Varnishes That Haven’t Featured On My Blog – April 2014

Nail Varnishes That Haven’t Featured On My Blog

As of April 2014

So, I was sorting through my (extensive) nail varnish collection the other day and ended up compiling a list of nail varnishes I have that have never featured on my blog. This means they haven’t been named in any Nails of the Month, Nail of the Day, Nail of the Week, Nail Art or Top Five posts. I haven’t used my nail varnish collection series posts in this as these only contain bottle shots and I haven’t actually used the nail varnishes for those posts.

I’m really enjoying working my way through my list of Products I Want To Finish In 2014 and I decided I wanted to do something similar with my nail varnishes. I have over 100 nail varnishes in my collection which haven’t featured on my blog, but considering the size of my nail varnish collection and looking at it percentage wise, it’s actually not all that many in the grand scheme of things. And just because they haven’t featured on my blog does not mean that they haven’t been used. Many of them I will have worn on my toes, or they have featured in nail art but if I haven’t done a specific post for that nail art look then they may not have been named in the subsequent Nails of the Month post and some pre-date my blog and have been used extensively before I started blogging.

Nail Art – Titanic

Nail Art

I’ve been wanting to do some more nail art for a while but didn’t have any solid idea of what I wanted to do and then inspiration struck. I’m a huge history fan, and today marks 102 years since the Titanic sank. The Titanic’s story has always fascinated me and when I’m in the mood I really enjoy the film. So I’ve come up with this nail art design, which I thought I’d share with you. I would class them as nails based on the film Titanic, but in terms of the appearance of the ship I’d say the film is almost completely accurate, it was something James Cameron was quite particular about.

Nails of the Month – March 2014

Nails of the Month

March 2014

As soon as March hits, I class it as Spring and I totally broke out the pastel nail varnishes and loved every minute of it. I’m still working the longer days with Thursday’s off and I’m still finding it difficult to paint my nails as much as I’d like. I also sleep at my grandparents at least once a week, so that gives me even less time as well.

The first manicure I did wear was to layer Nubar’s Lemon Lime Crush over Butter London’s Wellies. This has almost a neon quality to it and I’m totally loving Nubar’s new Crushed Candy collection.

Superdrug Haul – March 2014

Superdrug Haul

March 2014

So, I went a little crazy in Superdrug the other day. But a lot of these things I really did need, and I thought I’d share them with you. I did this shopping and wrote this post going on two weeks ago now and scheduled it to post. When it does I’ll be in Paris!!! I try to reply to every comment on my blog, I love them, but it may take me longer than usual this next week due to bring in Paris, I’m not really going to be thinking about blogging. And excited completely doesn’t cover it!

I love florals in the Spring and roses are so easy to create. There are loads of different versions all over the Internet but I thought I’d share the way I create this design with you. This post has been wrote well in advance as I needed to plan ahead since when it goes up I will be on route to Paris with my mum! Excited does not cover it!

Haul – Zara, Superdrug and Bath & Body Works – February 2014

Zara, Superdrug and Bath & Body Works

February 2014

I’ve been trying not to spend as much money recently but I did buy a few things from Zara, Superdrug and Bath & Body Works. Also my haul posts seem to be the posts I get the most likes on, so I’m assuming that people enjoy reading them.

From Bath & Body Works I have five of their PocketBac anti-bacterial gels. If you saw my Haul post from January you will know I got one then. Well, when I used about half of it in just over a week, I decided I wanted some more. I found a great seller on eBay and if you bought four, you got a fifth free. The four scents I choose were Pumpkin Cupcake, Midnight Pomegranate, Dancing Waters and Fresh Sparkling Snow. . And the free one was Merry Cherry Love. I’m really looking forward to using these, although I like some scents better than others.

Models Own Haul – January 2014

Models Own Haul

January 2014

So I’d been lusting after a couple of Models Own nail varnishes for a while now and finally on one dull January day (January and February always seem to drag for me when I just want winter to be over) I gave into temptation when I found myself on the Models Own website yet again. There were two nail varnishes I really wanted and it was them I was really looking at and there was another one I was kind of looking at. But if you buy five or more nail varnishes then you get free shipping. And also if you buy five you get £5 off, so basically you get four nail varnishes for the price of five as Models Own nail varnishes are £5. So, long story short I got five nail varnishes for £20 with free shipping, which I think is a really good deal.

Nails of the Month – December 2013

Nails of the Month

December 2013

The first look I wore in December was this Christmas Tree Lights nail art design. The base colour I used was Essie’s Mojito Madness. For the electrical cord I used A-England’s Camelot and for the colourful lights I used H&M’s Lime, H&M’s Summer Sunrise, H&M’s Pale Violet, H&M’s Nail Him, Sinful Colors’ Misty Red and Natural Collection’s Hibiscus.
