Nail Art – Disney’s Aladdin – The Genie

Rest In Peace Robin Williams

So I, along with so many others, was shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Robin Williams earlier this week. He was an actor who I grew up with and who was in some of my favourite films throughout my childhood. So in honour of his work and to remember the fun times he gave, I came up with a simple nail art look inspired by one of my favourite character’s who he played. The Genie in Aladdin. I’m still trying to figure out if I can come up with any designs for Jumanji, Hook or Mrs Doubtfire nails. Or maybe even Flubber, which was so bad it was good, in a strange sort of way? So anyway, this is a really simple look inspired by the Genie.

Nail Art – Star Wars – Ewoks

Nail Art

Star Wars

Ewoks

So, I always knew I wanted to do some more Star Wars nail art, but I hadn’t really envisioned it being Ewok nails. I had toyed with the idea of Ewok nails but it wasn’t my first choice. But I am quite happy with how these turned out.

I went to stay with one of my closest friends, Lesley and introduced her to my blog. (Hi Lesley – I know you’ll be reading this at some point!). She’s one of the few friends who knows I keep a blog and she insisted on showing her husband some of my nail art. Nothing we showed him could beat the R2-D2 nails we showed him first and he was the one who challenged me to do Ewok nails. He also said that if I did he would take Lesley back to the lovely coffee shop we went to in Bakewell and get her a piece of the chocolate cake we were eyeing. And as this is scheduled to go live the day after Lesley’s essay is due to be handed him, you need to tell Meo he has no excuse not to take you! And I’m very jealous that I won’t get to try a piece of that cake!

Nail Art – Star Wars – R2-D2

Star Wars

R2-D2

I’m a huge Star Wars fan. If push came to shove and I absolutely had to choose my favourite film of all time, I would probably say Star Wars and hope I didn’t have to choose between them (if I did I would probably have to choose Return of the Jedi). Anyway, yesterday was Star Wars day and although it fell on a day I didn’t post, I did do some nail art which I want to share. I didn’t have much time, so I went with simple R2-D2 nails. I love that little droid, but he’s not my favourite character in the series. Lots of people have done R2 nails, a quick google search shows that. But I thought I’d share my take on them with you.

Nail Art – Titanic

Nail Art

Titanic

I’ve been wanting to do some more nail art for a while but didn’t have any solid idea of what I wanted to do and then inspiration struck. I’m a huge history fan, and today marks 102 years since the Titanic sank. The Titanic’s story has always fascinated me and when I’m in the mood I really enjoy the film. So I’ve come up with this nail art design, which I thought I’d share with you. I would class them as nails based on the film Titanic, but in terms of the appearance of the ship I’d say the film is almost completely accurate, it was something James Cameron was quite particular about.

Nail Art – Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers End Scene

Lord of the Rings

The Two Towers End Scene

So, over Christmas and New Year, I’ve watched Lord of the Rings so many times. I’m one of those people, if I like a film and I’m really in the mood for it I can watch it over and over again. I don’t know why I equate Lord of the Rings with this time of year, maybe it’s because the films were released at cinema in December time and I can remember going to see all three of them. My one purchase in the Boxing Day sale was from Amazon and it was the extended edition of Lord of the Rings on blu-ray, and I thought it was pretty much a steal for £22.99.
