Nail Art – The Ryder Cup 2014

The Ryder Cup 2014

So once again it is Ryder Cup year and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to cheer on Europe in front of the TV for the next three days. I doubt it’ll be anywhere near as tense as last time though. By the end of the 2012 Ryder Cup I barely had any of the nail art design I had created left on my nails, I’d picked it all of due to nerves! You can see that nail art design by clicking here. I did debate doing golf courses again, but for this Ryder Cup I decided I wanted to come up with a different design, this time with a strong blue theme. So this is what I’ve created.

Nail Art – Jockey Jerseys

Jockey Jerseys

So every year my family goes to the big race meeting at York for one day, the Ebor festival. And this year I decided it was the perfect excuse to do some bright coloured nail art, before I start getting into all the darker autumn and winter colours. The jerseys the jockeys wear offer endless possibilities for nail art and as long as you can create lines and dots, you could create this look. It can be very much mix and match, put whatever colours you want together, with whatever pattern you want. But this is how I created this look.

Nail Art – Le Tour De France 2014

Le Tour De France 2014

This is such a simple look that I’m hesitant to call it nail art at all. Anyone who has read my blog for a while will know that I love combining my love of nail art with my love of sport, although I’m definitely more of a spectator than a participator. Last weekend I was lucky enough to go and see the Tour De France as it departed from Yorkshire, which is something I never, ever thought I’d get to see, it had never even crossed my mind. It was two very early starts on a week, a lot of sitting around in the sun for the actual event to be over in a couple of seconds but it was completely worth it.

Nail Art – Wimbledon 2013

Wimbledon 2013

So it’s that time of year again when my family settles in to watch Wimbledon for two weeks. And once again I was wearing a Wimbledon inspired manicure ready for the first match. This year I expanded on the design I wore last year, although I did copy some elements of it. To see that design, click here.

On my thumb I created a strawberry, on my index finger a tennis net, on my middle finger the Wimbledon sign, on my ring finger an Union Jack and on my little finger a tennis ball.

The Ryder Cup 2012

If you’ve read any of my previous blog posts you will know that I’m a huge sport fan. And that I love combining sport with my love for nail varnish and nail art. And the Ryder Cup has presented another opportunity to do that. Dad and I will be cheering on Europe for the next three days, and on my nails I have alternatively painted a little golf course and a version on the European Union flag.

Wimbledon 2012

I love summer’s filled with loads of sport to watch. And one constant every year in my family is the watching of Wimbledon. As far as summer sport goes lets not mention England’s disappointing exit of Euro 2012 last night, although Italy did deserve to win. And I use the term summer very loosely in terms of weather, since here in the north of England it does not feel like summer. I just wish it would stop raining! So when I had nothing to do on Saturday afternoon – it was raining yet again – I decided to paint my nails ready for Wimbledon beginning today.

Nail Art – Euro 2012

Euro 2012

So my St George’s crosses had started to chip after a full week of typing at work and I needed to re-do my nails. I wanted to stick with the football theme, but didn’t just want to re-do the England flags. So I decided to try to paint footballs on my nails, and for the most part it has worked. I haven’t been doing nail art very long and I can’t draw to save my life, but I’ve found nail art fairly easy, if time consuming.
