Nail Art – Children In Need – Pudsey Bear

Children In Need

Pudsey Bear

For anyone not living in the UK, Children In Need is an annual charity event in November each year when people are encouraged to do different fund raising events and donate to Children In Need who then use the donations to help disadvantaged children. Now the mascot for the event is a yellow teddy bear called Pudsey Bear who wears a dotty handkerchief over one eye. There’s also always a TV event, with different acts giving special performances and true life stories. I’ve always had a soft spot for Pudsey Bear, so this year as well as donating my money, I came up with this Pudsey Bear nail art look.

Series Eight Finale

So, Peter Capaldi’s first season as The Doctor has now finished and I decided I wanted to create a nail art look for the season’s finale. If you’ve read my blog for a while you’ll know I’m a huge Doctor Who fan and this isn’t the first Doctor Who nail art I’ve created. You can see my other Doctor Who designs here and here.

Nail Art – Stargazing Live – Constellations

Nail Art

Stargazing Live

So this is a nail art design I did way back in January and it somehow got lost among all my draft posts. I was inspired to do this after watching this years Stargazing Live TV series. I love astronomy anyway and I loved this years series. I started with Zoya’s Dream as my base colour to create the look of a night sky. And then I used my dotting tool and Topshop’s Mesmerise to dot on the stars in each constellation. And finally I topped everything with INM’s Out The Door Northern Lights topcoat in Silver.

Nail Art – Winterwatch – Fox

Nail Art

So, I was inspired to do some fox nail art after watching Winterwatch on the BBC. I’m scheduling my posts well ahead because for a trial period my hours at work have changed to ten hour shifts, with Thursday’s off, so I’m not going to have much time to blog on an evening. To digress slightly for a moment, I’ve been really impressed with myself and have lots of posts scheduled and ready to go, so I can stick to posting every other day for now.

Winterwatch aired in the third week of January and mum and I tuned in every night. My only complaint with the shown is that I wish it were on for longer and I’m already looked forward to Springwatch, when we usually get three weeks worth of shows. The foxes, who also appeared in Autumnwatch, were some of the stars of the show this year (mum and I were hoping the beavers would make another appearance, but no such luck). I’ve seen loads of different takes on fox nail art and I thought I’d share my take on them with you.

Nail Art – Atlantis

Nail Art

So, my mum, my younger sister and I were pretty disappointed last winter when the TV series Merlin ended. I still can’t quite believe it was on for five series though – were did those five years go?! Anyway, this winter there was a new drama series on BBC. Atlantis. My younger sister had moved out by the time it aired but mum and I very quickly fell in love with show. I in particular adore mythology and ancient history and I get a lot of that from my mum so it was probably a given that we were going to enjoy the show. And may I just say one thing? Jack Donnelly!!!

I knew I wanted to do some nail art for the season finale, but with Christmas and family visits and work, I didn’t actually get to do it until the New Year. I did a quick google search but couldn’t find that anyone has done an Atlantis nail art, so maybe I’m the first. I stuck to a pretty simple design, which to be honest of anyone saw they wouldn’t know it was nail art based on the BBC programme Atlantis. Each of my four fingers represent one of the main characters and my thumb Atlantis itself.

Matt Smith’s Last Episode as the Doctor

Christmas Day 2013

So, if you saw my Nail Art post for the 50th Anniversary programme, then you know I’m a huge Doctor Who fan. So, I wasn’t going to let Matt Smith’s last episode as the Doctor pass without some nail art. So this is the design I came up with. I wasn’t completely happy with how this came out but I was short on time and it is fairly decent (otherwise I wouldn’t be sharing it!).

Doctor Who – The Day Of The Doctor

50th Anniversary Special

Okay, so I can be classed as a total geek. I’m a big sci-fi fan, both film wise and book wise. Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Ender’s Game, The Book of the Crow, The Sword of Truth, Narnia, Merlin, Torchwood, Doctor Who? I’m all over it. So I was waiting for the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who with bated breath and it did not disappoint. I’ll admit that I’m not the biggest fan of Matt Smith’s doctor, but I’ve loved Rory as a character, but I was most excited to see David Tennant back as the Doctor. And John Hurt was amazing as well. And that glimpse of Peter Capaldi? Let’s just say I can’t wait until the Christmas special.

So, with it being the 50th anniversary special, I created this Doctor Who nail art. I didn’t have much time so I kept it pretty simple. On my thumb, middle and little finger I created galaxies, on my index finger I created a Dalek and on my ring finger I created the Tardis.
