Products I’ve Finished
I’ve been trying to use up a lot of kind of summer scented products and things I brought back half used from my holiday and I’ve kind of succeeded. I really want to buy some new stuff for autumn but I’m resisting so far (apart from Bath & Body Works candles because they are amazing and I’ve already spent loads on them and will probably buy more!). But I have so much stuff I want to try and use up at the moment.
What’s In My Travel Cosmetics Bag?
By the time this post goes live I will be in Portugal! Excited does not cover it. Anyway, I’m trying to schedule posts well ahead so that they will still go live on my blog every other day, something I’ve amazed myself by managing since the beginning of the year. (Now I just need to hope people are reading and enjoying them). So anyway, I thought I’d share the things I’m taking away with me, cosmetics wise.
So most of my cosmetics will fit in this small bag with a gorgeous sunset palm tree design on it which my sister got me for my birthday from H&M. And it really is amazing how much you can fit into a bag when you need to! Of course, most of the things are travel size, but still, I’ve got a lot in there! And these are in no particular order, just whatever I grabbed first when I dumped everything I wanted to take out onto my bed.
Zara, Topshop, H&M, Superdrug, Boots and Candy Hero
I have been such a shopaholic recently, which totally isn’t like me, and I have no excuse except that my younger sister is a bad influence when we go out. And as she’s the only sister I have I often can’t resist treating her to a few things, since I’m the one with more disposable income. Although one this trip to York I bought for us in some shops, and she bought for us in others. That’s just the way we end up doing things. A lot of what we bought was makeup once again, and in particular lip products, both my sister and I are obsessed with lip products at the moment!
Starting with Zara, I got this super cute light yellow t-shirt with a picture of a cactus on it and the phrase “I’m Awesome Hug Me”, which I just thought was so cute and I thought the colours in it are perfect for spring! I can’t wait to wear it with some pale jeans and sandals, if only the weather would cooperate! It’s definitely still too cold for sandals here at the moment!
Products I’ve Finished
I didn’t expect to be doing a Products I’ve Finished post for March, since I done one for February but I’ve seemed to amass a lot of things this month. And some of them even appear in my Products I Want To Finish In 2014 post.
Best of Beauty 2013 Tag
I was tagged by the lovely Benita over at Benita’s Beauty Bits and Bobs to do this tag. If you haven’t already checked out her blog, then you really need to, she is amazing. The Tag is to share your favourite beauty products in a certain category from 2013. Now I’ll be the first to admit that makeup is not a strong suit of mine, but 2013 has been the year when I’ve worn makeup more than I’ve ever worn it before, so I’m so happy and excited that Benita tagged me to do this. I don’t know all that much about makeup, I’m much more of a nail varnish girl then a makeup girl, but I am slowly learning, and many of the makeup products I use are the same over and over again, but I’m happy to share what I do use with you all. And hopefully 2014 will bring new products for me to try. 🙂
I will hold my hands up and admit I don’t use a face primer, I just use moisturiser before applying my foundation. And my favourite one in 2013 was my Olay Essentials Complete Care Plus Everyday Sunshine Moisturising Cream.
Colours of the Rainbow Tag
So, I watched a load of the Colours of the Rainbow Tag videos on YouTube this summer. And I’ve kind of made an early New Year’s Resolution, I want to try and post a lot more regularly on my blog. So I’ve been looking for topics and ideas which I can prepare ahead of time. And one of the things I came up with was to do some of my favourite Tags from YouTube.
Now from watching the videos I get the idea that many American’s are taught to remember the order of the colours of the rainbow by learning the name Roy. G. Biv. Here in England we are usually taught the phrase Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain, and that is certainly the way I remember them. I also really like it about I’m a big history fan and this phrase refers to Richard Duke of York’s defeat at the battle of Wakefield during the War of the Roses in 1460. Richard himself was never King but two of his sons were, Edward IV and Richard III.
It varied from person to person whether they choose a product whose packaging matched the colour or whether they went for the colour of the product itself. I’m going with packaging, it was easier! For some products I also have an honourable mention because it was difficult to just choose one. Also a lot of the videos added in categories for pink and multicoloured. I’m going to do the seven colours of the rainbow, pink, gold, silver, black and white.
